✊ Why We’re Marching
The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) will march to the office of Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba to demand the termination of contracts with security companies that are violating:
- The National Bargaining Council for the Private Security Sector’s main collective agreement
- Other labour laws of the Republic of South Africa
đź’° Exposing Corruption
SATAWU has been vocal about widespread corruption in the sector. In 2023, the union uncovered that over R75 million was fraudulently deducted from security officers’ salaries—funds meant for:
- Medical aid
- Provident fund contributions
- Worker benefits
These funds were never paid to the appropriate institutions, yet the companies responsible continue to do business with the state.

The following companies will be cited for non-compliance and corruption:
- Urban Africa
- Limpopo Security
- Phepha MV Security
- Pristo Security
- Ntabasi Security
- Master Enforce Security
- Powerful Protection
These companies hold multi-million rand contracts with the state while allegedly exploiting workers and undermining legal protections.

SATAWU urges all members and workers in Limpopo to join the march in large numbers. This is a united stand against corruption and exploitation.
