SATAWU and PRASA Conclude Wage Agreement at CCMA
SATAWU and PRASA Reach Wage Agreement at CCMA On 24 July 2025, SATAWU returned to the CCMA to conclude wage negotiations with PRASA following a nationwide mandatory process. Led by General Secretary Cde Jack Mazibuko, the union successfully secured a 5.5% wage increment across the board, effective from 1 August 2025, with back pay due in September. The agreement covers eligible employees in the bargaining unit, including fixed-term contract workers, and guarantees no retrenchments during the agreement period. SATAWU also confirmed that night shift and standby allowances will be addressed in upcoming bargaining forum discussions. This marks a significant victory for organized labour, and SATAWU thanks its members for their unity and support throughout the process.
